Piercing the Darkness: Mt. Gilead Acquires Luxury Mini-Coach along with Luxury Coach to Carry Out the Great Commission
Three years after purchasing our very own luxury motor coach, Mt. Gilead has a new weapon to add to its arsenal in piercing the darkness and spreading the Gospel to the nations: our new luxury mini-coach! This new vehicle is nearly half the size of its predecessor, but twice as extravagant.
Both coaches feature the same captivating artwork: individuals representing the nations centered around Jesus Christ, who is holding a globe. Our Savior stands above the powerful scripture, John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
“More people around the world have been saved with that scripture, than any other scriptures in the Bible,” said Bishop Daniel Robertson, Senior Pastor of Mt. Gilead. Just like the luxury coach, the luxury mini-coach features the same invitation to “Come to Jesus Christ,” on the front of the vehicle, with the words, “Following Jesus,” on the back. “Everywhere it goes, it is piercing the darkness because of what it represents,” Bishop Robertson added.
The vision for this amazing mobile billboard came from Bishop Robertson. “It is always our desire to bring glory to God in whatever we do. Each luxury coach was purchased – debt free to help us carry out the Great Commission. The first word in the Great Commission is ‘go' and that is what both of these coaches are designed to do. We intend to transport the gospel across this nation and because of the message on each coach, we will literally tell others about His love everywhere we go,” said Bishop Robertson.
The concept of the beautiful creation was birthed from the spirit of Min. Lamont Coward, and brought to life by one of our very own, Brother Stanley Rayfield. Brother Rayfield is a graduate of VCU with a BFA in Communication Arts. He has specialized in portraiture for over a decade and his work can be found at the VCU School of Arts and MCV Hospital. Since graduating from VCU, he has received numerous honors, awards, scholarships and fellowships. You can learn more about his background and accomplishments by visiting his website at www.stanleyrayfield.com. In addition to Min. Coward and Bro. Rayfield, this team of creative gifts included Min. Darla Strickland, a self-taught and gifted graphic designer.
Our 28-passenger luxury mini-coach, is a Grech Motor F550, and features many of the same amenities as our 56-passeneger luxury coach, a Provost H345. Both vehicles come with electrical charging stations along each row, extra over-head cargo space, Wi-Fi capabilities, LCD TV screens for DVD viewing, and a state-of-the-art sound system.
While the luxury coach is adorned with rich purple upholstery representing the royalty of our King, the luxury mini-coach features black executive interior seats, commonly reserved for limousines. Our mini-coach also comes with a power-controlled entrance door, and an automatic stepladder in the rear to easily load luggage.
The purchase of both luxury motor coaches exemplifies another testimony of the power of God and what can be done if you have faith to believe. “Because of the faithful giving of the members, partners, and friends, we now have the ability to take our evangelism efforts to another level. To God be all the glory for the great things He has done, and the best is yet to come,” said CoPastor Elena Robertson.
“You know what’s on my mind, right now? What’s next? If God did that, what else is He going to do?” said Bishop Robertson.
